Refund Policy

MailBeacon's policy for unused email validation tokens, duplicate charges, service errors, and refund processing.

Effective and last updated: July 17, 2026

1. Scope

This Refund Policy applies to one-time MailBeacon token purchases made directly through our checkout. It does not apply to free or promotional tokens, purchases made through an unauthorized third party, or a separate written agreement that contains its own refund terms.

2. Unused purchases

You may request a full refund within 14 calendar days after a purchase if no paid validation token has been used or reserved on your account after that purchase. A temporary reservation that was fully released without validation does not count as use.

The request must come from the account owner or original purchaser and pass reasonable payment and account verification. Once approved, the corresponding tokens will be removed from the account.

3. Used or reserved tokens

A purchase is ordinarily final once paid tokens have been used to perform validation or are committed to active work. Each token pays for the technical validation process and resources consumed, not for a guarantee that an address will be classified as valid or that a message will be delivered.

We therefore do not provide standard refunds because a result is invalid, unknown, catch-all, unavailable, or different from another provider’s result. We may offer a proportional refund or service credit in an exceptional case when we believe it is fair, but doing so does not create an ongoing entitlement.

4. Duplicate charges and billing errors

We will refund a verified duplicate charge or an amount charged in error. Please report it within 60 days so we can investigate while payment records are readily available.

If you do not recognize a charge, contact us promptly and also take any steps recommended by your bank or card provider. We may suspend related account activity while an unauthorized-payment report is investigated.

5. Confirmed service errors

If a confirmed MailBeacon defect causes tokens to be deducted more than once, deducted without a validation attempt, or otherwise consumed contrary to the documented charging rules, our normal remedy is to restore the affected tokens.

If restoration is not practical or would not fairly resolve the issue, we will refund the amount reasonably attributable to the affected paid tokens. Requests should be made within 30 days of the event and include enough detail for us to reproduce or verify it.

Temporary downtime alone is not normally refundable because tokens do not expire and are not consumed while no validation runs. This does not affect any remedy required by law or promised in a separate written service agreement.

6. Items that are not refundable

Except where applicable law requires otherwise, we do not refund:

  • free, welcome, bonus, promotional, or complimentary tokens;
  • tokens already used for completed validation or reserved for active work;
  • purchases after the 14-day unused-purchase period because of a change of mind, reduced need, or failure to cancel an unintended workflow;
  • usage caused by exposed credentials, an incorrect integration, duplicate requests from your system, or inaccurate input data;
  • losses caused by exchange rates, bank fees, or card-provider fees that MailBeacon did not collect; or
  • purchases tied to fraud, refund abuse, unlawful use, or a serious breach of the Terms of Service.

7. How to request a refund

Email support@mailbeacon.co within the applicable period. Include:

  • the email address on your MailBeacon account;
  • the purchase date and amount;
  • the payment receipt or transaction reference; and
  • a short explanation of the request.

Never send a full API key, password, or complete payment-card number. We may request reasonable additional information to confirm identity, ownership, usage, or the reported error.

8. Review and refund abuse

We review account usage, token reservations, payment history, and relevant service logs when deciding eligibility. If eligible tokens are used while a request is pending, the refund may be reduced or denied.

We may deny a request involving materially false information, repeated refund abuse, payment fraud, or an open chargeback covering the same purchase. We may temporarily restrict the related account while a chargeback or fraud claim is investigated. These measures do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.

9. Refund processing

Approved refunds are submitted to the original payment method, generally within five business days. Your payment provider may take an additional five to ten business days, or longer in some regions, to post the funds.

We cannot send a refund to a different person, card, or account. Taxes will be adjusted where required and permitted. MailBeacon is not responsible for exchange-rate differences or fees charged by your financial institution.

10. Mandatory consumer rights

Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts a refund, cancellation, cooling-off period, warranty, or other remedy that applicable law requires. If the law where you live provides a more favorable non-waivable right, that law controls.

11. Changes to this policy

The policy in effect when you purchased generally applies to that purchase. We may update this policy prospectively for legal, operational, or service changes. A later change will not retroactively remove an accrued refund right, and legally required or more favorable changes may be applied immediately.
